Empowering STEM Excellence: How NatMatSci uses Goodnotes to elevate academic success

About NatMatSci

The National Mathematics and Science College (or NatMatSci) is a STEM specialist school in the UK, renowned for exceptional A-Level results and a substantial number of Oxford and Cambridge University admissions.

Students from all over the world come to NatMatSci thanks to its reputation and great results; in 2024 over half of all A-Level grades were A*.

Why we make a good match

We collaborate with schools to make sure our platform is always built with their priorities in mind - and it’s even better when the schools we work with share our goal of achieving the best outcomes for both their students and their staff.

NatMatSci Headteacher Dr Andy Kemp is one of the leading authorities on AI in Education in the UK, and you can see his tech-progressive mindset reflected in all the staff and students at the college. Dr Kemp has travelled extensively across the country and overseas to share best practices and innovative ways to incorporate AI tech into everyday teaching and learning.

Thanks to his understanding of the benefits of AI and digital note-taking, Dr Kemp was one of the first educators in the UK to adopt our technology, rolling out Goodnotes 6 and Goodnotes Classroom across different subjects at his school.

How we’re adding value

NatMatSci have been embracing our technology for over a year now - and both students and staff have seen immediate value and time saved during lessons.

  • Easy distribution & collection of materials - Teachers can be spend more time on class content and less time on admin thanks to how we’ve reimagined and streamlined the traditional ways of setting and collecting assignments
  • The freedom of handwriting - Students can fully embrace their creativity thanks to our world-class digital ink and paper, bringing hand-written equations into the modern classroom
  • Bulk-grade assignments - Teachers are able to cluster student responses together based on a model answer. This could either come from the teacher as they write on the Goodnotes Classroom whiteboard, or from a student.

We can’t wait to learn more about how NatMatSci are using Goodnotes Classroom to propel their already exceptional students and teachers even further!
